Today Paul and I decided we are going to close Fasthound Greyhound Adoption after being in the greyhound rescue business for close to7 years. For the last year or so I have not felt I have been giving my all towards the group. It has taken a lot of soul searching to come to this decision but I think it is the right thing to do.
I am very grateful to have been a part of helping save the greyhounds we have over the last 7 years. I am also grateful to have been able to introduce the breed to people who never thought about having a greyhound as a pet before. To say these dogs are the greatest in the world is an understatement!
The thing I am most proud of with my time with Fasthound is Sweetheart. She is my biggest accomplishment (even though I really owe everything to Dr. Kolar and staff) and the greatest gift Fasthound gave to me. She will always be a part of my family for as long as she lives, as well as Monte, Benny and Cleo.
I hope one day soon I will take up volunteering with a greyhound group. Right now I just need some time to relax and let this sink in.
I will keep updating the blog as it is Sweetheart's blog and she isn't going anywhere. :)
