Sweetheart is Home

Sweetheart is home and I am about to cry.

Her shoulder and leg are swollen and incredibly bruised.  She is hurting and is in the bedroom away from the other dogs.  I am going to give her a Rimadyl to hopefully help with the pain.  I know that medicine is for arthritis but I figure she is full of pain and inflammation so it can't hurt.

I am just sick about this.  I thought having her home with me would make me feel better but I just feel so guilty and so incredibly sad.  I see her hurting and I wish I could take her hurt away.  I hope she will be ok.  I know she is tough but it is still so hard to see her this way.

  1. Accident happen no matter how careful we are. Sweets will heal and be back to new before you know it, dogs are SO MUCH more resilient then we are. And they don't hold grudges but they do pick up on our feelings so you need to be positive! Also do you not have any tramdol on hand that is what she needs for the pain. Take care everything will be fine.

  2. No, no tramadol. She ate a rimadyl alright though as well as her antibiotic. If she is in too much pain tomorrow I will get her some pain meds from our vet in McLoud or at Kolar's. I'm being positive with her, she is on the bed in the bedroom right now and I am keeping the other dogs away from her so she can rest and not worry about them hurting her.

  5. What a huge scare for you:( And no doubt Sweetheart as well. I hope she is as good as new in no time at all. Please don't beat yourself up about it, although I know you will! These things happen. Good luck with her recovery.

  6. I know it looks bad now, but a lot of times the swelling goes down faster than you think it will! Sending good thoughts out to Sweetheart!
