Finally! A new update!

So I am finally back home after being away from home for almost three weeks.  Thanks to Lester for taking such good care of Sweetheart and for his wonderful photos and videos.

I got home at 1 a.m. Friday morning and slept on and off most of Friday.  Saturday I did a 5K walk for breast cancer awareness and today was spent with family.  So, I am just now getting a chance to write this update.

The video above was taken yesterday and, as you can see, Sweetheart is still doing beautifully.  She is just a feisty little girl and loves to play outside as well as inside.  Poor Jackie can't get a break from her outside, Sweetheart just knows Jackie wants to be her personal toy and doesn't understand why Jackie ducks away from her every chance she gets.  Inside the house, she is playing with her favorite skunk squeak toy and likes to wolf bite me while we are lying on the air bed.

Since I have been home I have been guilty of spoiling her, i.e., letting her sleep with me all night on the air bed.   It is hard not letting her do that, she is such a good snuggle bunny and I really did miss having her when I was in Michigan.

We are going to try have a bandage change done tomorrow afternoon.  She will be getting a new Silverlon dressing this time so we are hoping to see more progress this coming week.

For all of you who are in Oklahoma and would like to meet Sweetheart in person, we are doing a "Yappy Hour" at Mann's Best Friend, 10600 S Pennsylvania Ave # 12, Oklahoma City, OK 73170, Friday October 29th from 7-9 p.m.  This is going to be Sweetheart's official public debut.  I will have here there the whole time as long as she feels good (which I don't foresee her not feeling good for any reason).

Sweetheart can be spayed any time now but I am not going to have her spayed until after Yappy Hour on October 29th.  As I said in an earlier post, I really hate putting her through any more pain but I know the spay has to be done and she will be fine.  It is just hard for me to know she is going to have a little more suffering to go through.

Below are some pics I took of her yesterday.  They are of her cooling down after running around like a fool outside, hence the wide open mouth and the tongue hanging out the side of her mouth.  :)

Hot dog!  Check out that tongue.  Doesn't stop her
from snuggling up on the air bed with a warm comforter.

Check out all these spots!  If you look at her photos from when we
first got her in August versus now, you will be amazed at all these
crazy spots this girl is getting.  She is going to be all black if these
spots keep popping up!

She looks so silly with that long tongue.

I should be home for a while.  I would still like to go down to Texas for a week to be with my friend during her cancer treatment but that is going to be a wait and see thing.  I should be more consistent in updating her blog from here on out.  I appreciate all of your kind words while I was away from home.  Thank you all for being such loyal followers of this little girl.  If you have any questions about Sweetheart, please let me know!

  5. Imagine the joy she has now - and you gave that to her. Her whole existence before was about misery, and you handed her JOY. No wonder she runs around like a crazy dog!!

If you do nothing else in your life, this one thing would be enough to guarantee you Heaven.

I hope whoever gets Sweetie has a blog - I don't want to let her go!
