Below are some pictures of my personal dogs and my current fosters.
Lucy - She is one of the most beautiful greyhounds I have ever fostered. She just had a broken back toe amputated and we are waiting on the biopsy results to make sure she doesn't have cancer. |
Journey sleeping. She hooks her leg over her ear every night. It is absolutely adorable to see in person. |
Jackie - I have fostered this sweet girl for a total of over 18 months. She is a little shy out in public but so silly and loving at home. |
Jackie on her 'couch of courage' |
Bavarian, my very first greyhound. He is now 12 and was what made me fall in love with greys and what led me to start Fasthound with Paul. |
Monte our second failure at fostering. He is 9 and a half years old and is a such a happy boy. |
Cleo, our first failure fostering. She is 7 years old and has more energy than a puppy. In this picture she is sleeping with her little tongue peeking out of her mouth. |
Monte and Bavarian sleeping on their air bed. |
Beautiful babies you have! My bridge boy had a toe amputated at the track. Then they kept racing him... but I digress.... I would always tease him that I should get a discount on his nail trimmings at the groomer!
ReplyDeleteBavarian broke his toe racing and they amputated it. However, they did not race him any longer and I ended up with him!
ReplyDeleteThanks for those pix! Sometimes, the best thing that happens is for you to flunk fostering! I have started a new pet blog. It is called "Grey Hares on my sofa" http://grey-hare.blogspot.com/ . Stop by if you have a chance!
ReplyDeleteP.S. You got me beat on long-term fostering! The longest I have had one (well two) is 9 months. I had Sadie for 9 months. Flunked on that one. Then I had Dave for 9 months as well. But girl, 18 months, I admire you!
ReplyDelete18 months total. I had her for a year the first time. She got adopted and then was returned about a year and a half later due to family situation. I have had her this time around since the first part of January. When we got her the very first time from the farm she was so skittish she wouldn't stay in the same room with us. Now she is a wild little girl who loves to run around and be loved on. She is another one of my special projects who I wouldn't trade for the world. I love the underdogs!
ReplyDeleteI love the video and the pictures of your babies and fosters. What a nice group Sweetheart will be coming home to.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Sweetheart is going to be in the best place possible, plenty of company, plenty of love and loads of commitment. You are clearly a very special family (of the two & four legged variety).
ReplyDeleteAll our (ongoing) best wishes, Spiffo & Cami
I love that little rat tail that doesn't stop wagging!!
ReplyDeleteOh Sweetheart will be amongst great company at home. This week will go so slow cause she needs to go home to be with her new loving family.
ReplyDeleteI have a senior greyhound and I really enjoy it, I agree that more people should take the old folks in. Tigger is still really spry and fun when we play, but very relaxed the rest of the time. Its the best of both worlds.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Sweetheart is doing better. The fact that she ended up here made me so sad. I couldn't imagine treating my dog that way.
Wow - you are wonderful. Good luck to Sweetheart and to all of you!
